ArrowUsing rare earth Magnets to hold front side license plate holder ?

Has anyone tried using rare earth magnets to hold the front license plate together ?

theoretically the rare earth magnets each has a 6-10+lbs of pull force (depends which ones u get) so with about 4 sets should give you 40lbs of holding force which i think its plenty (a few guys on the porsche did it with only 3 sets of mini rare earth magnets with pull force of less than 6lbs each, he drove over 100mph and was ok)

Rough sketch (let me know what you guys think)
The way I am thinking about doing it is finding the location where the front side plate holder will go and glue the magnets on... then Put magnets inside of the front bumper to match it, mark the location inside and secure magnets by 3M 5200 glue

Then use some kind of tape on the magnets where the side mount license plate is so when you snap on and off there wont be any micro scratches and when the car vibrates it wont scratch (i doubt the plate will move at all but just incase)

I want to try it but wanna get some feed back if anyone tried it i dont know if the inside of the front OEM bumper is smooth ? for me to glue magnets ?

Now that seems like a lot of trouble just don't mount a front plate at all. That's what I did.

I live in NJ and have full tints and no front plates thats double the chances of me getting pulled over haha

gluing 4 magnets to the back of the front bumper wont be alot of trouble for me because i'm taking my car to a shop to install my intercooler so i get to glue the magnets while they are working on my car....

Let me know if this works, i really don't want to have to drill into my front bumper.

what i did was use a clear sheet of 3M clear bra slightly larger than the license plate and mount that on the bumper where the license plate should be. then on top of that, i used 3M Dual Lock to attach the plate to the bumper. Dual Lock is like Velcro on steroids. three strips 1x6 inches wide will probably hold 50lbs. the reason why you need the clear bra is because the sticky side is pretty permanent. there is almost no way you can take the license plate off quickly without bending the plate. if you remove carefully it should be ok.

Best thing to do is to just put your front license plate up in your dash when you park and when your driving around keep it in your glove box. If you get pulled over, just say that you bought the car in PA or the nearest state to yours that doesn't require front plates. State that the dealer there didn't install a front plate bracket. FYI I have used this same excuse many times even without having to show my credentials while pulled over.
