Hey guys and gals! Have you ever wanted to shoot your beloved iPhone for no reason whatsoever, but deemed it impossible to find a case that could withstand a bullet? I’m sure we’ve all been in this situation, so look no further. Meet Marudai’s armored case for iPhone 4 and 4S.
The Japanese case maker has put together what is quite possibly the ugliest and bulkiest iPhone case known to man and I suspect it will hold that title for years to come. It’s entirely made of steel and features a thick one-inch plate on the back to protect your iPhone from ammunition. It can handle a 12.7 mm 50-caliber bullet. The dimensions are 138 mm x 81.8 mm x 39.6 mm and it weighs 2.1 kg, or roughly 4.6 lbs. Wow.
It has all the standard cut-outs for ports and controls including a circular cut-out for the camera. Unfortunately, since the case is so thick, it limits how photos can be taken. There’s an obvious tunnel that shows up when you open the camera app.
Marudai ships the case with a machined anodized aluminum front cover, plate armor, another protective cover, four bolts, a hexagon wrench, a spare lens, and a fake 12.7 mm bullet cartridge just for the hell of it. The front plate even comes in your choice of black or white.
This ultra-rugged iPhone case sells for 52,500 yen on Marudai’s website (or translated here) which equals approximately $650. Now all we need is some daredevil to pick one up and make a viral video trying to blow it to bits.

The iPhone 4S is the upgrade of the iPhone 4 with a faster dual-core processor, better 8-megapixel camera on the back with 1080p HD video recording support, HSPA (up to 14.4Mbps on the downlink) and CDMA… Read More »
