On another note, how would I go about getting a tune on my car? __________________ 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Full LED conversion interior/exterior 5% Tint all around, minus windshield Front plate delete K&N 57 Series CAI RE XXX 12" with Hifonics 2300 Soon : Angle eyes, Borla catback, Eibachs | | | April 14th, 2012, 02:39 AM | #2 | LVC Gold Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Downey Posts: 6,616 | I dont know how the non thx radio is set up, but for the thx, there is an amp for the speakers and one for the subs. If the non-thx is the same, then just unplug the subs from the amp. What are you trying to accomplish? Getting a tune ON your car? Do you mean music tune or performance tune? If you meant performance, you need an sct device to tranfer the tune to the pcm, but you also need a tune to be written and loaded on to the device. Contact torrie from fastpartsnetwork to buy the device and get a tune from him. __________________ 2004 LS V8 Ultimate- My Mods | | | April 14th, 2012, 02:51 AM | #3 | Full Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: Gas city Posts: 113 | Alright, so the speakers that are on the rear deck are subs only? they don't have the ability to be speakers as well? I was kind of wanting to just be able to switch the amp over to hpf so only vocals would play through those "subs" But yeah I am talking about a performance tune, fastpartsnetwork.com or? And what exactly does a tune do for you? I have heard people locally talking about different types of tunes? Like a track tune, gas saving tune. They may not know what they are talking about lol __________________ 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Full LED conversion interior/exterior 5% Tint all around, minus windshield Front plate delete K&N 57 Series CAI RE XXX 12" with Hifonics 2300 Soon : Angle eyes, Borla catback, Eibachs | | | April 14th, 2012, 07:16 AM | #4 | LVC Gold Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: DFW Posts: 4,846 | They're subs. You can replace them with regular speakers and a new amp or install an aftermarket sub and amp and disconnect them. Or leave them alone. There's already 4 other speakers for vocals no need for 6. And also the door speakers in the THX system are component speakers. edit: I see why you want to toss them. I have a 10" in the trunk but i still kept the rear deck subs...i find that they add some midrange bass that my sub cant. I did turn down most of the bass on the headunit up front and just let the sub in the trunk handle all the lows. __________________ 2006 LS8 ULTIMATE (ELITE) 5K LED FOGS - K&N TYPHOON INTAKE - MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST - YOKO SDRIVE 235/50-17 - AQ SDC 2.5 DVC @ 500RMS - 20/25/25 TINT Last edited by BlackLS06; April 14th, 2012 at 08:33 AM. | | | April 14th, 2012, 09:31 AM | #5 | Full Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: Gas city Posts: 113 | Yeah I may just turn the bass down all of the way on the stock subs and speakers. Considering I really don't want to have to re-run my rcas again for a different amp and speakers. __________________ 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Full LED conversion interior/exterior 5% Tint all around, minus windshield Front plate delete K&N 57 Series CAI RE XXX 12" with Hifonics 2300 Soon : Angle eyes, Borla catback, Eibachs | | | April 14th, 2012, 09:35 AM | #6 | LVC Gold Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: DFW Posts: 4,846 | Thats what i did and it lets me turn it up higher without the speakers distorting. And i have a bass knob next to my leg so i can adjust bass on the fly without having to touch the amp. __________________ 2006 LS8 ULTIMATE (ELITE) 5K LED FOGS - K&N TYPHOON INTAKE - MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST - YOKO SDRIVE 235/50-17 - AQ SDC 2.5 DVC @ 500RMS - 20/25/25 TINT | | | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
