With all my cars, I simply use some zlpties to mount the front plates onto the front bumper by looping it through openings in the front grill. Does anybody know if the 2012s have openings in the front grille to allow for this? This method also allows for easy removal if needed (car shows, etc). Zlpties are cheeeeeap I am NOT drilling the front bumper. Thx. | | | Sponsored Links | Advertisement

Not sure which bracket you have, but if it's OEM, it has to be through the bumper. just like this I'm just wondering if that grill opening below the front plates (in the above pic) has openings and slats to be able to loop zip ties through. | | | 04-17-2012, 03:38 PM | #5 (permalink) | Co-Driver Join Date: Apr 2008 My Ride: TSX/09/Vortex Blue Posts: 181 | using zip ties through the grille would look like crap __________________

I'm just not ruining my paint or bumper. So I can either have it look like crap on holes on my bumper, or look like crap temporarily through zip ties and not harming my paint. I'll choose the latter. So to others out there, that's a yes, that the front grille has these openings to hang ties through? | | | 04-18-2012, 01:49 PM | #7 (permalink) | Registered Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: Norwalk, CT My Ride: TSX/06/Nighthawk Black Pearl/Navi Posts: 239 | Quote: Originally Posted by Integra2TSX The mounting bracket is held on via screws that screw directly into the front bumper...which is a big no no in my book. Cant you just drill holes underneath the bumper opening so its not visible? Or zip tie it there if possible cause zip tieing it onto the grill would look terrible lol Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app | | | 04-19-2012, 12:36 AM | #10 (permalink) | Registered Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Socal 626 My Ride: 09 Grigio TSX Posts: 2,215 | there should be stock oem holes for plate frame at the lower grille. i know cuz i snapped mine, check my build thread. __________________ 09 Grigio TSX - Megan Coilover | ATLP Grille | Injen Intake| Cleared Headlights w/ Black Housing | HID fogs 6000k | HID headlight 6000k | DRL/high beam nokya artic white | interior/underdash/trunk/license plate leds | | | 04-19-2012, 10:04 AM | #11 (permalink) | Registered Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Bay Of Fundy NB, CANADA My Ride: . . . . . . . . Case solved. | | | Today, 08:42 AM | #13 (permalink) | Co-Driver Join Date: Apr 2008 My Ride: TSX/09/Vortex Blue Posts: 181 | the second gen has a mounting bracket that mounts to the grille. It doesnt damage the bumper at all. no need to zip tie anything. __________________
