Just have your dealer do it. Mine did it for free during an oil service when I moved back to California.

I too went without a front plate for many years in california before. A while back I got pulled over one late night and the officer gave me a drunk test (wasn't drinking), but he said the lack of front plate was the reason he pulled me over and put me through the drunk test because I didn't look too good (I was sick on the way to walgreens. lol).

I don't know, I just don't care, I'd rather be legal and not be hassled and get into some other kind of trouble simply because I want to keep my front bumper clean. I feel the same way about the tint rules here in California. Why make a target of yourself? I agree, both things are silly though...
